The American Diabetes Association asked us to redesign the interior of two journals: Diabetes and Diabetes Care.
Their layouts were severely outdated and heavy.
The mission of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. They lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by diabetes.
Diabetes and Diabetes Care, ADA’s two monthly journals, both had recently redesigned covers, while the interiors had not been redesigned since 1992. The content was heavy, and the style was dated and in need of a redesign. We wanted to use design to better engage the reader, thus making these journals “the place to be” for the latest, best content in the world of diabetes research and education.
We worked with ADA to develop interior page designs that worked with the existing journal covers while adding a contemporary, modern, clean feel. We made sure the journals each had a distinct identity yet looked related. In addition, we created a detailed style guide which included specs. ADA handed this over to their publisher for seamless integration of new content.
…with Sharon and her team on the interior redesigns of our scientific and medical journals. They took the time to understand our objectives, our readership, and the type of content we publish in order to develop visually engaging and dynamic designs that appeal to the subscribers, online users, and authors. We certainly look forward to working with them again, and we would not hesitate to recommend their talents and expertise to other organizations.”
